About the tour
Machu Picchu needs no introduction — but it does need logistics: entrance ticket, train, bus and a guide who can explain what you are looking at. That is exactly what this full day from Cusco takes care of.
We leave early for Ollantaytambo to board the panoramic Vistadome train, whose wide windows follow the Urubamba river to Aguas Calientes. From there the official bus takes you straight up to the citadel, where a certified bilingual guide spends two hours with you among temples, terraces and the site's most photographed viewpoints.
After the guided visit you have free time to explore at your own pace, or simply to sit and take it in, before heading down for lunch in Aguas Calientes and catching the train back to Cusco.
