Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu

From the Urubamba valley to the citadel

2 days / 1 nightEasyUp to 123,762 m.a.s.l.

About the tour

The route the Incas followed: the valley first, then the citadel. Day one covers Pisac — its terraces hanging above the Urubamba — and Ollantaytambo, the only town in Peru that keeps its Inca street plan, where people still live inside the same stone blocks. Rather than returning to Cusco, you stay overnight in Aguas Calientes. That means entering Machu Picchu early the next day, ahead of the midday buses, while mist still lifts between the walls. It is the most efficient combination for a short trip: two days cover what usually takes three or four with unnecessary backtracking.
