Horseback ride through Cusco's ruins

Temples and caves on roadless trails

Half dayEasyUp to 123,800 m.a.s.l.

About the tour

Above Sacsayhuamán, in the hills ringing Cusco, sits a cluster of Inca sites that barely appear on standard circuits because no road reaches them: the Temple of the Moon, carved inside a limestone cave; Zona X, with niches and altars sculpted into rock outcrops; and the Devil's Balcony, a viewpoint over the valley. On horseback they can be covered in a morning, on dirt trails between eucalyptus and grassland, without meeting a single bus or vendor. No riding experience is needed: the horses are gentle, the ground is even and you go at walking pace with a guide. It is a different way to see the city — from above, and in silence.
